A Girl and Her Camera | Pittsburgh Senior Portrait Photographer – Senior Photo Session | Emily Hixon Photography
Several months ago, I was contacted by this sweet senior year girl. She expressed her interest in and love for photography. I was excited to hear that as a photographer herself, she decided that I was going to be the one to take her senior portraits. After being rained out several times this summer, we finally made this portrait session happen just recently. It was honestly the perfect and most beautiful late summer/early fall evening. I had a blast working with Amanda.
It is always so much fun to meet and photograph new families. Last week, I met these two little guys. They were so full of life, playful and sweet. I enjoyed seeing the boys personalities shine both individually and together. Big brother was great at making his little brother laugh and smile. Little brother was pleasant and loved being the center of attention.
Could these two be any cuter? 🙂
Just a short while ago, I was photographing this little cutie’s sweet baby sister. When I was last visiting and photographing at this family’s home, this little girl was getting sooo excited for her third birthday! She knew that she was getting a special tutu and a custom shirt to wear as her birthday outfit and could hardly wait for it to arrive!
This brand new three year old sweetie was excited to get some photos all by herself but also some with mom, dad and baby sister. She did such a great job holding her all by herself too! She laughed, kissed her baby sister on the head and even pretended to sneeze to make everyone giggle. I had such a fun time with the birthday girl and her family!
I spent the morning one day earlier this week with this adorable little baby girl. She just turned six months old. Her mom does not want to miss a beat, so she decided to capture photographs of her at each three month mark through her first birthday.
This baby girl has such a loving and sweet personality. She did not mind the camera one bit! We had fun changing outfits and using a few props. We even managed to snag a shot of her older sister, who is turning three very soon!
I am so grateful to be able to call this my job everyday….
And one of the proud big sister…
For about a month now, I have had this session planned for this family. We were hoping for colorful leaves, sunshine and cool weather – for once, everything worked out exactly as planned! These little guys’ mom found the perfect location for our session. It was so much fun photographing this family. The two little boys were so sweet and adorable. You could tell they are the best of friends. Their mom and dad were funny, great at entertaining, throwing leaves and providing yummy snacks! I could not ask for a more beautiful family to photograph on such a gorgeous fall day!
Enjoy this sweet family!
Despite the never-ending cold and snowy weather, Scott and I ventured out for a photo session with one of his guitar students, Elise. I’ve been wanting to have a photo session with Elise for a few months now. I was glad to finally get an opportunity to do so today.
Although the snow makes for a nice backdrop, I must say I am ready to see it go! After about 40 or so minutes into the session, we were all just about frozen. Elise never complained and happily went along with my crazy ideas. I hope to photograph her again when the weather is more desirable!
Enjoy another winter beauty 🙂
I had an exciting day! I was given the opportunity to photograph Chad Smith, drummer from the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Chad was brought into Pittsburgh by the Percussion Marketing Council. PMC had a contest to win a Chad Smith Clinic for a local school. The contest was won by Vincent Nemeth, owner of U Rock Music Center (http://www.urockpgh.net).
Chad was at Peters Township High School for the day. He worked with some of the student percussionists and then later performed at an assembly for the entire school.
The day was really fun and very loud! I think that everyone had a good time. I’m glad I was able to be a part of such an awesome event.
