Family Love | Morgantown Family Portrait Photographer – Family Photo Session | Emily Hixon Photography

It is difficult for me to believe that I have taken this family’s fall photos three times now. Where is time going? This family is so special to me because they were amongst my very first clients. Before I was even comfortable calling myself a photographer, they saw my potential. Take a look back on their photos from previous years: 2010 & 2011 (scroll halfway down the page – family #2).

It has been such a blessing getting to know them and watching their daughters grow and change. These four are the nicest and most fun people you could ever want to meet! This year, we headed to Coopers Rock State Forest in West Virginia for some beautiful portraits. It was my first time there so I enjoyed exploring with them. We searched high and low for some fall colors and found almost nothing! Just when we thought we could not find that fall foliage, we came across a gorgeous spot filled with color by a pond before sunset (check out the photos at the very end of this post!).

Enjoy! 🙂

Don’t you just love fall??

Families are Forever | Family Portrait Sessions – Morgantown, WV

I spent my Saturday in Morgantown, WV photographing two families. The second of the families will look familiar to those of you who have been following me for the past year. The first family is close friends with the other family I photographed last year around this time. We began the session at their beautiful new home then moved to a few on campus locations. The girls were photogenic and excited to have their pictures taken. I loved their little matching feather hair extensions. The mom and dad were kind and patient. Their session went by so quickly. It must have been because we were having fun! I enjoyed spending my Saturday morning with this nice family!

I hope they enjoy a sneak peek of their session!

After I finished photographing this family, I took a brief lunch break and uploaded their images. Then, I got ready to photograph the family that I met last year. (See image below)

I was excited to see them all again. I knew the girls would look much different than they did last year, but I was not expecting such a big change! The older daughter and sister turned into a young lady, while the younger daughter and sister has lost her little baby face. Both girls are still just as charming and sweet. Their mom and dad are also great! They had me laughing throughout the session – as did the younger daughter and sister with her silly faces and poses. We had such a great time walking around WVU taking photos. It was such a nice fall day, with the exception of some serious occasional wind gusts.

I am very grateful that I was able to meet up with this great family once again! Looking forward to seeing you all again next year! 🙂

Enjoy your sneak peek!

The Little Mountaineers | Family Portrait Session – Morgantown, WV

I have been incredibly lucky lately! Today, I traveled to WVU where I got to meet another great family. The little girls were very excited to get their pictures taken! They were complete naturals and beautiful too. Mom and Dad made it fun for them by telling silly stories. We had quite a chilly morning, but not one of them complained even once. Thankfully, we got a break from the cold for a little while and we got some great photos while warming up! Once we were all feeling a little better, we went back outside to explore a bit more. Although we all kept slipping on acorns and the poor little one bumped her cheek, everyone managed to keep smiling!

Enjoy a sneak peek of this adorable family.
